A record high of 4.6 million Americans voluntarily left their jobs in August 2021.

According to the most recent data, it seems that the phenomenon of the "Great Resignation" is slowing down.

The rate of employees leaving companies is gradually returning to pre-pandemic levels. This could be due to various factors, including increased concern and skepticism about current trends in the world of work.

Here's some quotes from the article:

In the first six months of 2022, voluntary terminations of employment relationships were 3,322,000 , an increase compared to the same period of the previous year (+36%) for all types of contracts:
  • seasonal contracts (+64%)
  • intermittent contracts (+57%)
  • apprenticeship contracts (+34%)
  • fixed-term contracts (+33%)
  • permanent contracts and temporary employment contracts (+31%).
The aforementioned study by the IBM Institute for Business Value (IBV) – which involved 14 thousand workers from all over the world – highlighted that the main reasons that lead people to resign are the need to work
  • in a more flexible reality (32%),
  • the desire to also have more targeted and satisfying tasks (27%).
When choosing a new job, what people look for is
  • work-life balance ( 51%)
  • career advancement opportunities (43%).
